Micro CHP Generator for the Rural Home

When generators produce electricity, they also produce excess energy in the form of heat that is wasted by being cooled. In fact, all of the cement and structure in a nuclear plants tower is to cool the excess heat of the power generation. CHP stands for Combined Heat and Power meaning that you use the heat off the electricity generation to make hot water or heat the air. This results in much more efficient rates of fuel output. Wood gasification can be used in a CHP generator, a convenient backyard biofuel! By actively planting and managing a forest, one can attain a sustainable source of fuel without carbon externalities because the process of growing forest is itself a carbon sink, which offsets any emissions from the fuel burning process. Further carbon sequestration can be achieved with Bio-char integration. The closer that the source of the power is to the user, the better, so if your going to live in a rural setting not only will it be more efficient to produce your own power but in some cases the only option.
